Increasing Independence, Maximizing Potential

Providing a lifetime of opportunities for people with disabilities.

The Lehmann School is part of LADACIN Network, Inc. The mission of LADACIN Network, a nonprofit Agency, is to provide a continuum of care, including educational, therapeutic, social, residential, and support services to infants, children, and adults with complex physical and developmental disabilities or delays.

The Agency focuses on enhancing the quality of life for those served and their families. Since its founding in 1949, the Agency has brought together a network of volunteers, qualified staff, people with disabilities, and their families dedicated to providing vital services. LADACIN Network now serves over 3,500 individuals and their families in 14 facilities in Monmouth and Ocean Counties in New Jersey.

Through the years, the Agency responded to the needs of people with disabilities by creating and expanding new programs. Offerings now include Early Intervention, Child Care, Adult and Residential Services. Visit our website to learn more about LADACIN Network.

Lehmann School History

The Agency was founded in 1949 by a group of parents seeking therapy for their children with cerebral palsy. It was incorporated in 1952 as United Cerebral Palsy of Monmouth and Ocean Counties. In 1956, the Agency opened its first school for children from Monmouth and Ocean Counties. Eventually, in 1977, a school opened in Ocean County. It was located at the Sarah Miller Pre-School, in Brick, NJ, and in 1979, the Brick Presbyterian Church, before moving to the Lehmann Center in Lakewood in1988. The Lehmann Center was named for Dr. Otto Lehmann, a pioneer in providing services to people with disabilities.
